“Metamorphoses” AD Intérieurs Exhibition – Paris Design Week

What is AD Intérieurs?

AD Intérieurs is an annual exhibition series from AD magazine. For the tenth edition, Ad magazine chose metamorphosis as its theme. Hosted this year at the Hôtel de Coulanges, it’s a venue that itself has much metamorphosed: it dates from the 17th-century, and was bought by the city of Paris in 1972. Today, the structure (now called the House of Europe) showcases collaborative talents in fashion and design, with a future space anticipated for spring 2020.

There was a private visit for those invited by the collective. Among the guests were Dominique Desseigne, Paul-Emmanuel Reiffers and Laurent Le Bon, who all mixed with the designers. The exhibition is on view from September 4th to 22nd.

Outstanding designs

Luxury furniture, rich textiles, stunning finishes, delicate lighting bring each showroom to life. You can see the thoughts and the artistic vision in every creation. Some may captivate you, some may not. But it’s undeniable that you don’t get to witness such alluring design so often!

The design exhibition showcases a contemporary cabinet inspired by Pierre Bonnefille, a creator who builds modern furniture, pictorial creative works and contemplation spaces. At the design event, he creates a warm space with a quiet atmosphere.

Thierry Lemaire builds vibrant and lively interior design projects full of contrasts between raw materials, precious metals, and touches of bright colors. At AD Intérieurs 2019, the top interior designer mixes different periods, unique styles and materials to define this stunning masculine bedroom with a bed resting on a parchment platform.

Influenced by the melancholy surrealism of Giorgio De Chirico, Anne-Sophie Pailleret develops a textured interior in shades of brown, Sienna and cognac scattered by touches of white at this edition of AD Intérieurs. In each of her projects, the top designer confers great relevance to textures and patterns.

“Metamorphoses” also inspired Fabrizio Casiraghi, an Italian interior architect who works with toughness and softness. The design project presents a collection of precious chronographs, centre tables, comfortable sofa, painted lacquers, and tufted carpets.

Also showcasing at AD Intérieurs, Hannes Peer is an Italian architect and top interior designer who designs spaces with a unique design whose dynamics stem from confrontations of sharp artistic elements. The cozy but contemporary living room created by him features vintage furniture signed by the greatest maestros of transalpine design.

With arc-shaped niches, benches, and washbasins, this symmetrical modern bathroom is reminiscent of Palladian villas as well as Art Deco palaces. The green marble monolith bath and the sculptural brass shower-cage breathe strength and vigor into this space designed by Humbert & Poyet, a design firm that builds pure spaces with theatrical elements.

At this edition of AD Intérieurs, Pierre Gonalons gives a realistic but graceful reinterpretation of the interior garden with a contemporary design as it was conceived in the 19th century. His creations always combine opposites: discreet rigor and decorative spirit.

This hybrid and multifunctional space is a symbol of contemporary design. At this year edition of AD Intérieurs, Michel and Daniel Bismut developed a dynamic and moving design project.

This year’s display was astounding! We hope that next year, there will be a wider number of participants and more beautiful designs to witness.
